People say level 4 vampire is bad at PvP. Let’s see how true is that statement.

Gear

Sets

  • Phoenix – it attac, but also it protecc. It combos very nicely with Arterial Burst. While cooldown is pretty harsh, the effect alone is often enough to win 1vs1 scenario.
  • Ring of the Wild Hunt – you fight in melee range, so you need that speed to be able to keep up close. Speed also saves you from dying as you roll out in Elusive Mist.
  • Armor of the Trainee 2pc – one of the best sets today due to 1pc bonus and bonuses being higher than 2-4pc bonuses of other sets.
  • Willpower 2pc frontbar – maximized damage output from skills.
  • Zaan 2pc – it just makes sense. We fight in close range, we have speed to follow enemy, and we don’t mind additional killing power to close out games quicker.
  • Wrath of Elements backbar – our attack is magic damage, it places magic penetration and strongest dot for 0 mana.

Armor types

5pc light, 1pc mid, 1pc heavy – grab crit/pen bonuses and max stat pools.

Enchantments & Traits

  • Mana enchantments everywhere, tri-stat enchaments on biggest pieces if you can afford them.
  • Impenetrable trait on armor.
  • Spell Damage enchantments on jewelry.
  • 3x Swift trait on jewelry = approx +20% movement speed.
  • Sharpened trait on front bar weapon – make them feel naked.

Food & Drinks

  • Ghastly Eye Bowl – we have enough sustain due to ability to transfer stam to magica very quickly, and almost not using stam pool (rarely need to sprint, only do that to attack from invisibility, which is rare). Focus on increasing power instead. Level4 vampire also nullifies any HP-regen bonuses.
  • (Cheap) stamina pots – bit counter-intuitive, but it’s better to have stam regen boost & restore with Dark Conversion.
  • (Best, but costs a lot) 3-stat pots – ultimately, you want all resources back & ability to heal mid-fight too.

  • Vampire stage 4, obviously.
  • Serpent mundus – because stam regen matters.

Tips

  • The attack sequence is curse -> drain -> arterial bursts, fixing our hitpoints with ward when we expect burst that kills us.
  • Once phoenix is triggered, try to finish with bursts asap. Arterial burst damage is heavily buffed at this point, guaranted to crit, which heals you 3k/second due to surge.
  • Yes, vampire levels increase cost of regular skills. But also it reduce cost of vampiric skills we spam, which actually makes it even more sustainable.
  • Wards, tho, cost fucktons of mana. You don’t spam them. Use one or two when you go low on HP, to have bonus damage and hitpoints to survive next few hits.
  • If you need to escape, use elusive mist to increase distance, cover behind obstacles to break the line, do several dark conversions and roll the mist again. Since you regen both hp and magica this way, and your stamina regen is high enough (with potions to boost), you can do this forever.
  • Doesn’t mean you don’t want to ward -> mist when you are very low on HP.
  • Arterial bursts, on the other hand, cost almost nothing. You spam them whenever you see fit.
  • Use mist to enter the battle. It can eat heavy openers and stuns, roots and snares, boosts your speed so you can position yourself, and buffs you when you leave the mist.
  • Boundless storm when need to catch someone with fast movement. Unlike all other builds, we don’t stun or slow, we just become faster than opponent.
  • You want boundless storm because it’s independent source of crit damage. Crits proc surge. Thus, this skill indirectly heals for considerable amount, along with armor and speed boost.
  • Invisibility from level4 vampire sprint breaks when you jump down from the platform, even if that’s something really small. It’s irritating and stupid. Learn to run around obstacles and jump in advance - YOUR jump doesn’t break invisibility.
  • Don’t count on sprint invisibility if you need to run out (unless you are at big distance in cyro or something). It takes way too much time to set up.
