Did you ever played collectible card games? Like MTG, or Hearthstone?

You probably asking yourself now “dude, why does it even matter?”.
Well.. because they made pretty good article about types of players:

  • Timmy wants to play something BIG, even if that’s not the best move.
  • Johnny want to play with his original creation, which will often be worse than meta.
  • Spike just wants to win every game, even if that’s not original build, grabbed from the internet.

Well.. MTG even meta-memed about it and put them into fun sets:

Timmy Johnny Spike

I am Johnny/Spike player.

That means I want to play something original – I don’t see a point in playing a game with someone’s other builds. I don’t want to be a clonetrooper.

Zenimax did a great job to balance shake the meta of Elder Scrolls Online, and create the problem of choice in your builds:
You have limited number of slots and many useful skills, with bad skills being buffed.
You have limited amount of gear slots with so many different sets, traits, enchants.
Choice between vampires, werewolves or staying clean.

All in all, that’s a lot of combinations to experiment with.

Weird ESO Builds is a place where I would brag about finding the combination that is yet unknown to the public, but actually works great.

Weird ESO Builds – when strange meets competitive.

tl;dr:

Because meta builds are boring.
